A creekside event venue in the North Georgia mountains.
On Brasstown Creek in Young Harris, Georgia, The Cliff Retreat brings together a stretch of creek, covered pavilions, an open lawn, a barn and an on-site prep kitchen — an intimate setting for weddings, family reunions and celebrations in the Towns County mountains.
Brasstown Creek
Brasstown Creek flows through the property — clear, shallow water over a stone bed, framed by rock banks and tall trees. Make it the backdrop for a creekside wedding ceremony, gather on the bank for photos, and let guests wade, fish or pull a chair into the shallows. Wooden porch swings along the water give everyone a front-row seat.
The barn
A green barn with a metal roof and X-braced double doors stands at the edge of the lawn, with an open-sided lean-to and a gravel apron out front — a classic North Georgia backdrop for portraits and wide shots of the grounds. Ask Little Bear whether the barn can be part of your event.
Creekside pavilions
Covered gathering spots are spread around the grounds: a creekside deck with a long picnic table, a small covered deck with blue Adirondack chairs under string lights, a lattice-skirted pavilion with ceiling fans and lights, and a metal-roofed gazebo on a flagstone patio. Seat guests across them for rehearsal dinners, celebrations and toasts.
Prep kitchen
The grounds include a knotty-pine prep kitchen with a commercial stainless refrigerator, an electric range and oven, a microwave, a sink and long counters, plus a restroom just off the room. Ask Little Bear whether your caterer can use it for your date.
The lawn
A large, flat, mowed lawn opens up between the barn and the pavilions, shaded by tall trees. There is room for a large wedding ceremony and reception, a family reunion or a big celebration.
Fire ring & swings
As the evening winds down, gather around the stone fire ring beside the creekside deck, or settle onto one of the wooden porch swings by the water. An easy, unhurried end to a wedding weekend or celebration.
